A new driving range could be created in Bulwell as part of a plan to improve Nottingham City Council’s golf facilities.

The council has set aside £750,000 to help the development Bulwell Hall Golf Course and look for a ‘long-term’ partner to drive the renovation of the course and its pavilion.

A delegated decision has been published on the council’s website agreeing to spend the money – but it has not been revealed what the money will be spent on.

In recent years, the council has taken over the running of the course, but the report says keeping it in-house is “unsustainable due to limited opportunities for further investment alongside the continued pressure of on-going maintenance and necessary year on year improvements to the course.”

Councillor Dave Trimble, portfolio holder for leisure and culture at the council, said: “We have carried out extensive remodelling of Bulwell Hall Golf Course in recent years and we’re keen to see further improvements which will give it a sustainable long-term future.
